Gotta ask him for the details, though.

Is Munson off the front or back? He'll probably show everyone this pick and say that he soloed to victory. Right Mike?

I was downtown today and saw them cleaning up the course. Lefler said you raced, Mike. How'd it go?

You were downtown? Wait, downtown Omaha? And you didn't say hi? What an ass ...

Well I was off the front at first, then off the back....

Remembering this race last year, it went ape from the gun, so I was part of that ape this year instead of being off the back from the beginning, like last year. I thought the whole pack was just strung out behind me and they'd swallow me up soon, but I found I was in a break with Terry Beenken (fast guy from Iowa) and Tim Farnham (fast guy from NE(but now from Cali)). So we work it hard for about 4 laps, then the pack gets us. Of course when they do, more attacks happen. This was about the limit of my abilities. I was good going up the hill and hammering down the backstretch at a certain fast speed for about 20 minutes. The pack was just faster than that for the whole 75 minutes. So I popped off and said goodbye to my last place payout on GC (unbeknownst to me at the time). I found out after being pulled that you loose about 2 minutes and Marco Vasquez was 1.5 minutes down on me. So he got my last payout spot. Hamburgers. That's the way it goes, I guess.

and what time did all of this occur? I left at 5:30, so hopped up on SoBe energy elixirs that I ended up running home.

not really.

I say huzzah and possibly rah! to Mike for deciding to go like a bat out of hell for the first 5 minutes of a 75-minute race. Takes balls. Takes fortitude of the intestinal nature. Probably should have told you there wasn't anyone behind you, huh?
