Shabbos - 1??

So Friday should be a holiday for most people since the 4th of July falls on Saturday. Jon Randell and I are planning an easy couple hour ride in the morning that day. Time and place for meeting is still up in the air, so we could start discussing that now to get a consensus.

Mr. Miles and I had a revelation this last Sunday on our mellow Shabbos + 1 ride. And that revelation is that Crane Coffee sucks. At least neither of us like it. I just thought it was me, but when he mentioned it, I felt vindicated. So maybe we should try to start our rides from some other location? I'm also up for ideas on this aspect. Depending on who shows up, a meeting place more out west would be wiser for those guys who live out that way? There's Scooters on 120th and Blondo which is right off a trail. Is there a coffee shop in La Vista that's anywhere near the West Papio trail?

Yeah, I also like the Scooters there. It's good coffee and a nice atmosphere.

7 am could be a meeting time? Get a couple hours in before anyone else is up and around.

I'll be riding out to David City, NE that day. Your welcome to join me if you want to rack a good 100+ mile day.

Oh... and I'm meeting up with a bunch of novice riders in Waterloo at 8:00 to head out.

Hmmmm... I may be up for a 7 AM ride but I'll let you know. I have no idea as to the weekend plans.

I'll call you later and confirm or back out on the ride.

Yeah, it's all kinda up in the air since they are saying scattered thundershowers throughout the day. I was also hoping to start maybe at 8am instead of 7am, but if there's lightning, we may have to say no-go anyway.

I'll post later if there's updates.

I'll be headed to Waterloo by 5:00am (oy!) so I guess I will not run into any of you on the roads tomorrow.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Actually, I'm meeting that group in waterloo at 6:00am (YAWN!). Then 50 miles out to David city where we are staying overnight. I should have around 70 or 80 for the day.

You all stink! Er, I mean, that's nice that you get the day off on Friday.

Our Uncle Pete isn't giving a day to celebrate independence this year.

I don't know what Scott's talking about. July 4th is an official UP holiday and we've been granted the day off

Scott Redd said...

Heh... we even get the day after Independence Day off, as well. W00t!

Scott and Brady - so sad. But I don't feel fer ya. AT one time my position with Uncle Pete had me working on weekends - my workweek ran from Saturday through Wednesday, and graveyards to boot (the "middle" was a bit younger at that time -like 4 or 5). So a holiday on a Saturday was great - a three day "weekend". Of course at this point, for me every day is a weekend (heeheehee). Dad Munson
