I challenge Bob!!!

This weekend, temps are looking kinda good.  37 for a high on Saturday and 42 for Sunday.  Saturday may feel warmer since it's supposed to be sunnier, however, there's also supposed to be lots of wind Friday that may carry into Saturday.

Let's start making plans now to put in some time this weekend either or both days.  Write what times you have available and we'll hopefully figure out a compromise to get everyone riding.

I'm available 7:00am till 10:00am. I have studded tires on my bike but could swap back to the standard commuting tires if needed.

I would be dog slow with over 30 days off, but if somebody wants to do a social "no-drop" ride with me, I'm game.

That 7:00am till 10:00am is on Sunday. I have plans at 6:00am on Saturday till 10:00 (cooking pancakes at church) and keli has plans after that (so I have the kids).

Sat 1200 all afternoon free. Need to ride outside. I have put on some heavy tires so no flats ready to go. Sunday same.

about this bike ride you're somehow proud of...

Funny that your trying to coordinate a ride is pointless and absurd. Group Riding in the minor leagues is pretty pathetic, and having fun with people who choose to go out on their bike in the inclement weather is even more so.

You spend your cycling efforts on your bike even when it's chilly or snowy, or nice. Meanwhile a plethora of folks who you've never even met are out there once every few days (when it’s nice) sucking ass in all its glory. Wake up(1) man. This is pure bull-poop snobbery.

One day, you'll look back at your 'racing' days and wonder why the hell you finely tuned your body on such a trivial pursuit instead of living the life I think you should. Actually you will probably look back with great fondness and nostalgia, but that doesn’t really fit into my prophecy.

I'm glad I don't have to deal with this, and wish you'd wake up (2) a bit for your own good. Because your own good is all I care about.

I'm additionally with EB and the crowd of people who use their bikes for transportation, utility and as a vital food source. Until you and those like you wake up (3) and quit using bicycles as expensive toys for false dreams of stardom, we'll never turn this town around.

Just imagine if you spent the thousands wasted on plastic disposable frames on more practical bicycles, with kickstands and pretty streamers on them and helped the bike shops be more like wal-mart. What if you helped create an image that made the "zorinsky hammer" want to use his bike everyday for good and not as a tool of Satan? What if you participated in helping get people on bikes and out of cars by setting their cars on fire?

You comparison is only a mockery of yourself. Much like mine is of me.
And I say “GOOD-DAY, SIR!”
Sincerely,
Somebody’s Wife.

Hilarious satire. I like it.

Hopefully when the dust settles from all this, we will never make fun of anyone else ever again. That, of course excludes Shim, because he's an old crotchety bastid with 20 kids who rides a mountain bike. I mean seriously, who even rides a mountain bike? That was so, so, pre-Lance.

SO... what is the plan for sunday. I may even have a new bike to ride that day... fingers crossed.

Bob, you're killing me with the early morning winter ride. 40 degrees in the afternoon sounds so much more appealing than 20 degrees in the morning. But, I understand that morning is better for family schedules.

Where do you want to meet and at what time? We could do the standard 7or8am start time at Crane on 78th and Cass. That means you could start at 7:15 or so to meet us at Crane? Then we could head where ever to get you back to your house around 10am? Lemme know what you think.

Johnny, that Saturday schedule might be good. If anyone else has definitive times on either days, pipe up and we'll try to work em in.

Yeah... early morning winter rides are not always comfy. I'd prefer afternoon myself, but that time slot is already dog eared for other family activities.

I'll be to Crane by 8:00. See you there.

I'm sure the dude whose wife is chiming in is quite the momma's boy. As for the MTB comments, check my resume from 08, all of my best results were on the road. By the way I have three road bikes (not counting my cross bike)and only two mountain bikes. My biggest goal for this year is on the road.

P.S. How can I not make fun of a guy who rode on a womens saddle for oh so many years.

There ya go, good buddy Shim. That's the way us cyclists like it. If we can't laugh at ourselves, then who can we laugh at?

Oh yeah, our friends.
