Bryan is supposed to do 4 hours each day - Saturday and Sunday. I believe the Peter is supposed to be in town for this momentous occasion. It's going to be cold as the ass of death.
Seeing that it's been in the 70's an 80's here, it is cold for me. I am looking foreword to seeing you all. I am in shit shape right now and am looking foreword to getting some good rides in. I want to ride north up through Omaha Trace and Boyer Chute and whatnots. Have you guys ridden through "Sram" park lately? Just throwing out some suggestions. Can't wait!
I'm supposed to be on call till 12:30. However, I really doubt there will be any calls, but I'll have to take my work cell phone just in case.
The other reason for that start time is then we'd hit the warmest part of the day, 2pm - 4pm, for the majority of the ride. I know, Bryan, 38 degrees is shorts weather, but if we start at 11am, my guess is it'll be closer to 27 degrees. That's a huge difference! I'm just sayin, yo.
I should be able to acctually ride. My kids have a break from sporting activities to gorge and rest and give thanks. Are you guys riding fast? I might bring out my new cross bike with road tires. Trek XO Lightly used ultegra 10. I will give up the cost later.
So anyway, 12:30 on Saturday sounds like a good plan. We shall head North as far as time will allow, then head back, dropping off people along the way. I was thinking about heading over to Council Bluffs, then North to Mo. Valley, over to Blair, then back South, but that's probably too long - more than 4 hours. So Bryan, if you have some magical way to get us 4 hours (well mostly you, since you're scheduled for that specific amount), then you'll be the ride guide.
Oh and Johnny, this ride won't be too fast, but the distance may be an issue. We will be on road bikes, so our climbing is going to be quicker than on a CX bike. My guess is it'll be similar to our last trip with you up to Blair. And that didn't turn out so great.
Bryan, it would be awesome to do that loop again. But like I said, my guess is that it will take a wee bit longer than 4 hours. But if we all have no time constraints, it should be a blast!
okay, i will ride road bike with good tires. I did RAGBRAI I am trained for anything. I am riding friday as it is a holiday. I will ride my cx bike on some gravel.
Munson, I got the email. I called your number, but it was off. I was seeing if you wanted to go grub today. Give me a call back on the same number I've had for the past years.
Weather channel says 42 at noon. I rode today with Dan Schuldt from Hastings he said he might come ride as well. About 3 hrs. I feel like I need to train.

I see highs in the upper 30s. That's not cold, man.

I'm guessing we'll have north wind, which will allow us to explore all sorts of northerly things. Wheee!
I'm also looking forward to consuming about a dozen gels per day.
Think we should say start time of 12:30 at Crane on Saturday? Sound good to everyone?
12:30 start puts us home at 4:30, which = close to dark, especially if it's cloudy. I'd be more in favor of 11 or 11:30.
I'm still waiting on my brother to coordinate his plans. I'll post as soon as I know.

how about I just start an hour early and hook up with you guys at 12:30 then?
and 27 is still shorts and knee-warmers range.
We'll see what the Murphy's and Peter have to say about times.
I can go at 11 or so, I was just pointing out my reasons for suggestion the later times.
those are valid reasons, definitely. I'd just rather be home sooner while still getting the prescribed 4 hours in.
Traffic will probably be nuts closer to town, so anything after 4 p.m. could get dodgy.
Seriously -- I can start earlier and meet up with you guys, and we can all get many hours in.
I'll have to get our with you lads soon. New road bike is on the way. Still about a week out.
We would love to hear some of your war stories during rides, Mod. Anytime you wanna join, hop on in.
My brother's going to be in town by 9 AM Saturday.
Bryan and Munson can fight it out on a meeting time and place. When the dust settles, we'll be there.
OK ... I'll relent.
Crane, 12:30. Since the wind will be from the north, we're going to have to head north. So I'll ride there and cut off before we head back to Crane.

Ha Ha! I Win!!
Wait, I didn't do anything.

Sound good to everyone?
Peter, think you can wake up by noon?
sure -- let's go to Blair. It took, what, 90 minutes to get to Missouri Valley from your parents' house this summer? We can do that.
Munson, sounbs good. EMAIL me your number.
Email was sent, let me know if you got it.
