I'm on MITMON!
Is too early to start talking about the weekend? Saturday or Shabbos or whatever you call it here, is looking pretty 'normal'. High of 30, north wind of 10, anyone want to go big on the road? Blair? MoValley? Loess Hills? Let me hear it.

I'd like to tell you I'll go crazy on some big epic ride Saturday but I'm in a high intensity low volume block right now... I may have some flex for a long-ish ride on Sunday.
Welcome to the world of MITMON.
I would love to ride out to Blair and do that wicked climb up past Dana College. However, I seriously question a) whether I could make it out and back that far and b) if that hill would kill my will to to ever hop on a bike again. I think the last ride I did over 2 hrs was on a trainer a month or so ago.
28 degrees or less=gravel, above 28=road.
I'm in both days.
Sign me up for Sunday.
What happens if it 28 degs?
I'll ride both days...would like to ride earlier on Saturday and around 12:30 or 1 Sunday. I'll ride my cross bike both days so the route won't matter.
i would be up for some gravel saturday morning 9-10 am?
If its on the Road...I'd be in...I've got about 4 hours to kill on Saturday
After 1:30 is best for me both days.
Latest NOAA says high of 29, 40% chance of snow with a calm north wind...may I propose a bit of this?

From Aksarben village round trip we're looking at almost 60 miles of pavement / gravel mix. I'm down with a 10am release, temp will just be hitting 20 by that time.
Way to tempt me to blow off the Power Intervals.
noon on saturday - road route 66, ashland etc..
one on sunday gravel - the New Capehart or Mod's gravel loop.

Shim, my guess (based on his weather report) is that Mod was talking about Saturday for his route. I don't think Sunday is going to be good for any route. Unless it's indoors. High of maybe 20 with 20mph (gusting to 30mph)North winds.
I guess I have no say in it as I somehow injured my knee. It's not too bad when I walk, I don't notice it when I lay down, but as soon as I extend my leg (as in push a pedal down) it feels like the ligaments under my kneecap are going to break. I have no idea what I did either. I went to be Wednesday, got up Thursday and noticed a little soreness. But once I hopped on the bike to head to work, it was pretty bad. I should have figured out a different way home instead of trying to just pedal nearly one footed. So I'm off the bike for the next couple days.
And tomorrow was looking like great weather!! Grrr!!
Shim, check your weather report. If it's going to snow it will be after noon on Saturday, hence the 10am start time.
Sunday is out with a wind chill of 2.
I'm sticking with my original plan. Aksarben Village at 10am for a tour of the northern loess hills. Cross or MTB, you choose. I'll be on 'cross.
FWIW, I'm down for Saturday 10-am lift off from Wohlners. I'll bring cab fare and diapers.
You go ahead and stick with your route, I know the real reason, your afraid as you should be, Kent is coming and he's looking for paybacks. Your luck can only last for so long. So have fun on the "B" ride.
This weekends weather is nothing, I'll take the snow over rain any day.
Shim, I think it's the other way around. Your whole southie crew is afraid of Iowa hills. It's okay, if I rode like you, I'd be scared too.
Change in plans, were leaving at 9 and crossing the Plattsmouth Bridge and doing the ride we did the other day.
On a further note:
Your right about me being afraid of becoming like you, but that has very little to do with cycling.
The title of this post continues to hold true.
Keep talking smart guy
