Shabbos Field Trip?

So the state road race is coming up here in 2 weeks time and we've got a long weekend coming up as well. I think we should journey out to the course and do some laps and since its 50 miles each way from my house I think driving out there would be the order of the day. Any takers? Open to date and/or time Saturday, Sunday, or Monday.

Edit: I could be convinced to ride out there...

Ooh. Interesting idea. Randell was thinking of going the other direction; heading across the river and doing the Wabash down to Shenandoah and back.

I think I would die if we did both maybe. Unless the Branched oak ride would only be a couple laps around the lake, starting from Lincoln or whatever - not from Omaha. Then maybe I could be convinced to do that.

I'm down for whatever. I just want the miles...

Well I think it'd be less hilly going over into Iowa, but that's just my opinion. If we did Branched Oak, my house or Randell's is practically Lincoln...

I don't know my schedule for the weekend yet, but I sure don't need to ride that Branched Oak course. Ugh.

Bryan,
How about Mark's L'Eroica course? Could you be convinced to do that?

How does Mr. Mile's idea of doing the Loess hills ride on Sunday morning sound? Mark's got a pretty good route reviewed here.

Shortcut to the map.

If anyone's willing to ride late, my schedule is good after 2:30 both days. I'd prefer Sunday afternoon, but would do Saturday if it works.

Brady!! Do you have Monday off? Saturday I'm relegated to morning ride for just a couple hours so I can spend quality time with the wifey.

That's a valid question. Does anyone have an issue with doing the long ride on Sunday afternoon vs the morning? I know Randell and I are free all of Sunday, so it's up to whoever else can join us. If Sunday afternoon doesn't work, Brady, we should figure out something for Monday if you have that day off. Haven't ridden with you in months!

Sunday afternoon works for me...

Mike are you wanting to do a couple hrs Sat morning or do you need to just stay close to the homestead?

I may be up for some MTB miles, any takers on that??

Yeah, just a couple hours Saturday morning. A mtb ride sounds good to me for that, even though it'll hurt like hell since I haven't been on a mtb since our Metro Single Track tour.

Sat morn MTB works for me also..

where to MTB? Manawa gets my vote but that's just me.

Manawa with no hills sounds great. I'm not riding over those crazy logs though. My ribs ache everytime I see that section.

Mike Miles said...

Did the logs hit you in the ribs or something? I'm confused.

Old Yeller and I are in for long ride + gravel on Sunday afternoon.

We can bump up the meeting if you'd like. No earlier than 1:30, tho -
