Speaking of riding for fun...

Shabbos ride anyone? We could resurrect the way early (anti-Peter) ride and get a few hours in before the heat and wind get bad.

Post your ride times/routes/suggestions/ideas/philosophies.

come to Wisconsin for a Shabbos ride! Little traffic, no one yells at you, just beware that everything is flooded so bring fenders.

Cool. How early is too early? The earlier the better for me - 6 is perfect. 7 is almost as good. 8 is too late. Isn't there a coffee shop at the old Caribou place now? Like some goofy play on words or something ...

Nope, no coffee shop, it's just a cafe. The French invaded it. It's called Le Petit Cafe. I don't think they are open at 6am.

6am meeting at the old Caribou place without coffee is ok by me. If we have to have coffee, we could do either Crane Coffee at 78th and Cass, or Charbucks at 63rd and Center. Crane would work better for Bryan, Charbucks is 2 blocks from mi casa. But I'm cool with either place.

oh hell.

I was planning on the Bike Masters ride on Saturday -- Landen and Ian and those guys might be there. And then I was going to ride long on Sunday, like starting at 6 or 6:30.

Make your plans -- I may or may not be there.

I say crane at 6.

I think I'm going to have to miss out on Saturday fun. Boo.

But Sunday ... Jon and I really are going at 6 or 6:30. Back by ... I don't know, noon? 11?

Fred, you and I will do a nice easy spin from Crane at 6am on Saturday. I might be able to convince Jonny to show up. He has a poker game tonight though, so 6am for him might be too much. I'll see if I can guilt him into going though.

Bryan, I'll join ya for Sunday. I will need to be home around 11:30 for the woman. But 4.5 hours is probably going to kill me anyway. So that'll be great. Also, I figured out that I missed the "finalize" process of backing up those dvds. I'm a tool. I just figured it did that automatically when it said it was "Creating menu/list." So I need all of those dvds back. It shouldn't take long to finalize them all, maybe an hour. So Saturday I can stop by sometime in the afternoon and pick them up. Then I can drop them off either Saturday eve, or Sunday. Let me know what works for ya.

How hard are you guys going on Sunday? I may plan a valiant return to the bike that day, leg and wife willing....

Hey Mike, I'm hoping it'll be a mellow ride. Your inclusion could persuade others to take it easy. If Bryan and John want to hammer, you and I could play the sweepers...of ourselves. I'll post an official start time/place in a new post once it's decided.

a Shabbos +1 proposal:

Sunday, 6:30 a.m. at Crane. I'm planning on 5ish hours, so we'd be back by 11 or 11:30 at the latest. Mike Munson has to be back by 11:30. My wife would prefer that, too.

Speed: It's tough to hammer for 5 hours. Let's call it spirited, but never fast.
